Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how BarShelf (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and related services (the “Service”). BarShelf is developed and operated by Defineyou (Developer: Kohyun Lim).
1) Information We Collect
  • Account Information: Email and authentication data via Supabase or Google sign-in.
  • Bottle Data: Bottle names, notes, reviews, volume, and rating information you save.
  • Usage Data: App version, device OS, crash logs, and performance analytics.
  • Support Messages: Information submitted via support (emails, attachments, etc.).

We do not collect sensitive personal or financial information. Bottle/tasting data are user-generated and stored securely.

2) How We Use Information
  • Provide and improve core features (bottle tracking, AI bartender, favorites, archives).
  • Authenticate and protect accounts; prevent fraud and misuse.
  • Analyze usage to enhance performance and stability.
  • Send important service updates or support responses.
  • Comply with legal requirements and maintain system security.
3) Data Storage & Security
BarShelf uses Supabase for authentication and cloud storage. All communications are encrypted (TLS). Database access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS).
Data Retention
  • Account & bottles: retained while your account remains active or until deletion is requested.
  • Crash/usage logs: stored temporarily for debugging.
4) Third-Party Services
  • Supabase: Authentication & data hosting.
  • Google OAuth: Sign-in and identity verification.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription entitlements, receipt validation, and refund/consumption signal handling.
  • Analytics (e.g., Firebase): Aggregate, de-identified usage insights.
5) Sharing of Information
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We may share data with trusted service providers to operate the Service (e.g., authentication, subscriptions, analytics).
  • We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Refund handling (Apple): To process refund requests, we may share purchase/consumption signals with Apple via RevenueCat as permitted by you under these Terms.

6) Your Rights
  • Request access, correction, portability, or deletion of your data.
  • Withdraw consent or opt out of non-essential communications.

7) Children’s Privacy
BarShelf is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact us for removal if necessary.

We may update this Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.

Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BarShelf (the “Service”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for iOS users.
1) License & Ownership
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. All rights, title, and interest in the Service and its content remain with Defineyou and its licensors.
2) User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorized use.
3) User-Generated Content
You retain rights to the content you upload (e.g., notes, photos) but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute such content solely to operate the Service. You represent you have the necessary rights and that your content complies with law and third-party rights.
4) Acceptable Use
Do not (i) use the Service for illegal or harmful purposes, (ii) infringe third-party rights, (iii) reverse-engineer or disrupt the Service, or (iv) post prohibited content (see Community Guidelines).
5) Subscriptions & Billing
BarShelf offers optional premium features via auto-renewing subscriptions. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements and validate receipts with the relevant app store.
  • Free Trial (if offered): No charge until the trial ends; then auto-renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal.
  • Pricing & Taxes: Prices are shown in local currency and may vary by region, taxes, and exchange rates.
  • Payments: All transactions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. BarShelf does not store payment card details.
  • Manage / Cancel (iOS): Settings → Your NameSubscriptions. Access continues until the current paid term ends.
  • Restore Purchases: Use “Restore Purchases” in-app (same store account required).
  • Revocation: If fraud, abuse, or refund is detected, related entitlements may be revoked.
6) Refunds
  • iOS (Apple): Refunds are requested and decided by Apple. We may submit purchase/consumption signals to Apple via RevenueCat to assist with refund handling. Use Apple’s portal: reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Android (Google Play): Refunds can be initiated through Google Play. When refunds are issued via RevenueCat Dashboard/API for Google Play, access is revoked immediately and reflected in the app.

Refund outcomes and timing are subject to the respective store’s policies. After a refund, premium access may be removed immediately.

7) Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement). We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Defineyou and its developers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
9) Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or unlawful activity. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your license ends and certain provisions survive (e.g., disclaimers, limitations of liability).
10) Changes to the Service / Terms
We may update features or Terms from time to time. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

  • How it works: BarShelf Pro unlocks premium features via auto-renewing subscriptions.

Community Guidelines
The BarShelf community is a space to share collections, tasting notes, and stories responsibly.
1) Allowed Content
  • Personal bar setups, bottle collections, tasting experiences.
  • Tips on bottle care, storage, and legal, responsible alcohol use.
  • Media that you own or are licensed to share.
2) Prohibited Content
  • Hate speech, harassment, discrimination, or explicit sexual/violent material.
  • Personal data exposure, impersonation, or IP infringement.
  • Promotion of illegal acts, underage drinking, or unsafe behavior.
  • Spam, advertisements, or automated/irrelevant flooding.

Violations may result in content removal or account suspension.

3) Hide, Report & Block
Quick Guide
  • Hide & Report: Instantly hide offensive content from your view and report it to moderators.
  • Block User: Hide all content from a specific user permanently.
Moderation SLA: Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Violations may be removed and actions applied.

False or abusive reporting may lead to account restrictions.

4) Posting Guidelines
  • Keep titles/descriptions concise and relevant.
  • Use clear images; avoid excessive overlays.
  • Credit official sources where appropriate.
  • Be respectful; provide constructive feedback.
5) Moderation Policy
  • Reports are reviewed under our internal moderation workflow.
  • Obvious violations may be removed without prior notice.
  • Repeated or severe violations may lead to temporary or permanent bans.
  • Appeals: email defineyou30@gmail.com within 7 days.
6) Minors & Safety
  • BarShelf is not intended for users under 13.
  • Content encouraging or depicting underage drinking is strictly prohibited.
  • Do not post or encourage unsafe challenges, actions, or recipes.
